A year of solar energy, over 40 years of respect for this land
Come a little closer, I’d like to tell you something while we enjoy this view.
For me and my family, Villa Acquaviva Wine Resort is not just a business — it has been our home for over forty years.
And in a real home, hospitality is about respect:
for those who walk through the door, of course, but above all for the land that hosts us.
☀️ One year ago, we took another step
One year ago, we installed solar panels on the roof of our winery here in the Tuscan Maremma.
I’ll be honest: when I looked at the results of this first year, I was genuinely surprised.
These are not just numbers.
They are a tangible sign of a commitment we have carried forward for decades.
🌍 Sustainability in Tuscany: real numbers from our winery
We often hear about sustainability in abstract terms.
But I prefer to look at what is real.
In just twelve months, thanks to the Tuscan sun, we achieved:
- CO₂ saved: about 24,500 kg
- Clean energy produced: 60,500 kWh
- Environmental impact: equivalent to planting over 1,200 trees
It’s quite emotional to think that the energy used to produce the wine in your glass, to warm your room, or to light up the estate comes directly from the same sun you see setting behind those hills.

But you probably know I don’t stop at solar panels.
For us, being a sustainable wine resort in Tuscany is not a recent trend — it’s something we’ve believed in for over 40 years.
Every day we work on:
- smart energy management through automation
- reducing waste
- careful water usage
- eliminating single-use plastics
- responsible waste sorting and local sourcing

Why am I telling you all this?
Because we truly believe we are just fortunate guests in this corner of the world.
