WHEN TO STAY AT ACQUAVIVA: CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT AND HOTEL OPENING
When can I check-in and check out?
Check-in from 2 p.m. till 11 p.m. and check-out by 12 noon.
Can I check-in earlier and check-out later?
Requests for earlier or later check-in /check-out are accepted according to availability; you can also check-out later, according to availability, by paying 50% of bedroom value. If the hotel is fully booked, we will not be able to satisfy your request. However, you may leave your luggage in our storeroom without any extra charge.
When is the hotel open?
The hotel is open all the year round, apart from some periods which vary from year to year. Please contact us for further information.
THE HOTEL AND ITS AVAILABLE SERVICES
Is breakfast included in the price and what sort of breakfast do you serve?
Breakfast is included. We serve a buffet breakfast with cakes and homemade jams, a savoury table with ham, ricotta cheese and eggs, and a cornflakes table with 5 different kinds of cereals, fruit juice and fresh hot drinks.
When is breakfast served?
The buffet is open to guests from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
How many floors does the hotel have and is there a lift?
Villa Acquaviva is divided into 4 buildings: three with 2 floors (ground and 1st floor) while the villa is built on 3 floors (ground, 1st and 2nd floor)
Can you connect to the Internet? And how do you connect?
The hotel has a Wi-Fi system in the communal areas and in the park but, unfortunately, not in the bedrooms due to the fact that it is a century-old building, which as yet, cannot be connected. At the reception desk, guests can ask for a notebook for surfing the Net. The system calculates connected time together with log-in and log-out times. Connection cost is: 1 euro for 30 minutes; 3 euro for 2 hours; 5 euro for 6 hours. The first 30 minutes are free.
Does the hotel have a covered car park or garage?
The hotel has free covered parking for its guests.
Do you have safe-deposit boxes?
Yes, all the bedrooms have them and there is also one for general use at the reception desk.
What languages are spoken at the reception desk?
Italian, English and French.
Are pets, such as dogs and cats, welcome?
We have some special bedrooms (215 euro per room) where you can keep small or medium size pets. Pets are not allowed in the breakfast room, restaurant, swimming pools and communal areas inside the hotel.
Can you make a booking for a massage during your stay?
Our massages are carried out by professional, self-employed masseurs and, therefore, they are not always immediately available. We advise you to check out their availability on booking.
How can you use the special entrance agreements for Saturnia Spa and the Golf Resort?
Villa Acquaviva has 2 agreements for entrance to Saturnia Spa and one for the Golf Resort. Please read the terms and prices on the Saturnia Terme page.
You can ask to use these agreements at the reception desk, when booking or during your stay.
When is the swimming pool open?
The swimming pool is open from March to October (included) from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Do you have bathrobes and slippers available as a swimming pool set?
You can hire your own bathrobe but, at present, unfortunately, we do not have swimming pool slippers.
How can we book the tennis court?
The tennis court can be booked at the reception desk for 10 euro per hour.
Do you offer half-board and if so, what does this include?
Half-board costs 35 euro per person; its price includes 3 courses, drinks excluded. As in a traditional restaurant, in the evening you can order your meal from the main menu. Half-board is applicable for your entire, minimum 3-nights, stay.
Is there a laundry service?
No, there isn’t. However, we can show you where the nearest laundry/ironing service is.
Is there a baby-sitter service?
On request, we can contact girls who are available for baby-sitting.
What other extra services are available in the area?
Our area is rich in things to do:
quad adventure excursions;
horse riding / riding schools;

a day in a boat sailing around the Tuscan archipelago;
visits to wine cellars;

Can your staff help us book a table in restaurants in the area?
Yes, our staff will be pleased to recommend you the best restaurants and to book a table for you.
What do you mean by an eco-friendly building?
Villa Acquaviva has been adhering to the energy saving, separate waste collection and, above all, waste reduction causes for many years. And this is only possible with the help of our clients who, by following some very simple rules (bed and bath linen, use of water, soap and separate waste collection bins) can make this beautiful place in Italy ‘greener and greener’. Since 2010, we have been a part of the ‘Legambiente Turismo’ circuit which is proof of the success of our campaign.
BOOKING, PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION
Can you pay your bill on arrival?
Your bill may be paid on arrival although, usually, it is paid on departure.
How can I cancel or change my booking?
If you wish to cancel or change a booking, you must inform us as soon as possible by phone or email.
The following penalty charges are a part of our cancellation policy:
On booking, we ask for a 30% deposit.
From 60 – 7 days before Check-in: 30%;
From 7 –2 days before Check-in: 70%
From 1 day – Check-In: 100%
No Show: 100%.
Advance Departures: the whole booking must be paid.
How can I make a booking?
Booking can be made by phone, email, fax or directly via our online booking service.
On booking, as a guarantee, you will be requested to make a confirmatory deposit of 30% of the full booking cost. This may be paid by credit card or by bank transfer. When you receive payment confirmation, your booking will be confirmed once again.
Which credit cards do you accept?
We accept all the most important credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, Eurocard, American Express, Maestro, Bancomat. We do not accept: Diners.
What is your policy about tips?
Tips are gratefully accepted but they are not compulsory; they are generally seen as a way of saying thanks for having received satisfactory service.
Are your prices inclusive of taxes?
Yes, all our prices are inclusive of 10% VAT.
Does the hotel have any romantic, quiet and private bedrooms?
All our bedrooms are very quiet and intimate, and are furnished in a romantic and charming fashion, thanks to the colours chosen and to the view over the park.
Does your hotel have any bedrooms with a balcony?
The DELUXE bedrooms have a balcony or veranda; there are 2 with a terrace and 3 with a veranda.
Are there any bedrooms with a hydromassage bath tub?
We can offer you bedrooms and suites with a hydromassage bath tub or a Turkish bath shower.
Are there any bedrooms for non-smokers in the hotel?
There are 7 bedrooms (5 deluxe and 2 superior) for non-smokers.
Are your hotel bedrooms supplied with Satellite TV for international channels?
All our bedrooms have a television with a Sky Tv decoder; therefore, you can watch many foreign channels as well as (sometimes with an extra charge) special events (sports, shows).
Do your bedrooms have direct call telephones?
Our bedroom telephones have a direct, external line; we also have an agreement with a foreign operator for calls abroad.
Do the bedrooms have air conditioning? Only in summer?
All our bedrooms and communal areas have air conditioning. This is usually used from May to September.
Can I connect to the Internet with my portable computer in my bedroom?
Unhappily, you cannot connect to the Internet in your bedroom. A Wi-Fi connection is available in the hotel’s communal areas.
How large are the bedrooms?
Villa Acquaviva has 25 bedrooms, each one different to the next, ranging in size from 13 sq.mt to 40 sq.mt.
Does the hotel have a restaurant?
The hotel’s restaurant is “La Limonaia” open from March to October (included) and for dinner only; from June to September, we offer a brunch service at lunch time.
Is the restaurant open to the public or is it only for hotel guests?
Our restaurant is also open to the public.
Can the restaurant be booked for weddings, special events etc?
It is perfectly suitable for weddings, social functions, parties and special events; terms and prices can be discussed directly with the management.
Does the restaurant have special menus for vegetarians, coelics or for those who are allergic to lactose?
There is a seasonal menu and a typical Maremma food menu; every dish has a symbol next to it, indicating if it is suitable for vegetarians, coelics or for those who are allergic to lactose.
When are meals served?
Lunch is served from 12.30 p.m. to 2.30 p.m.(in summer);
Dinner is served from 7.30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
WINES AND TASTINGS AT THE FARM
Can you buy wine at the Farm?
Villa Acquaviva has a Wine Shop where you can buy all our products: wine, olive oil, honey, jams, vegetables.
Where can you buy wine?
Our bottles of wine can be bought in the wine shop or online via our internet website.
Can you taste the wines?
Different kinds of wine tastings are organized in our wine bar:
1. tasting in the Wine Bar/Restaurant with Italian salamis, cheeses, toasted bread with sauces and a taste of our extra virgin olive oil:
a. only white wines (4 types): 20 euro per person;
b. only red wines (3 types): 18 euro per person;
c. the whole range of wines (7 types): 30 euro per person;
2. Tasting at the Wine Bar with appetizers:
a. only white wines (4 types): 15 euro per person;
b. only red wines(3 types): 14 euro per person;
c. the whole range of wines (7 types): 20 euro per person;
3. Wine and Food Tasting Dinner at the “La Limoniaia di Villa Acquaviva” restaurant with all dishes matched to each of the Farm’s 8 wines: 85 euro per person including drinks or 60 euro excluding drinks.
It is clear that all kinds of tastings are accompanied by explanations by the wine producer or by the wine expert about the various types of wine and their production methods.
VISIT MAREMMA: HOW AND WHERE
Can you hire a car from the hotel?
Unfortunately, there are very few car hire companies in the area. At Grosseto, about 50 km from the hotel, you can find the Hertz, Avis etc car hire firms.
Which is the hotel’s nearest airport?
The nearest airport is Fiumicino (FCO), 135 km from here.
Can you use the transfer service from the airport to the hotel?
We do not have a transfer service. However, we can organize one via NCC [Car Hire Chauffeur Service] for approximately 200 euro.
Which is the hotel’s nearest station?
The nearest station is Orbetello, 40 km away, although the largest, nearby station is Grosseto, 52 km away.
How far is the hotel from Florence, Siena, Pisa, Perugia, Rome?
The most important cities near the hotel are:

How can I check train and/or bus timetables, distances and ticket availability?
You can visit the website www.trenitalia.com, to check timetables and availability, and to book tickets online with credit card payment. As for bus services, you can visit the website www.griforama.it and look for Montemerano as your destination.
Can we use a tourist guide service?
The hotel does not have its own tourist guide but we have an arrangement with a local agency which can provide us with this service at various terms and prices.
